Description

Departure flight from Washington State. I am not sure which mountain this is but with the missing top, I'd guess this is Mount Saint Helens...I've only seen this mountain from the ground before. Many of you will remember Mt. St. Helens blew her top in 1980. I refreshed myself on clouds putting this image together. Here's a link if you want to remember what they all are: Do you really want to know? Seriously? Bill:) P.S. I think Denise (MrsRatbag) is correct (see first comment below)...this is probably Mt. Ranier but all the mountains up there are really interesting:) Also, Denise lives up there...well, not up on Mt. Rainier, but you know what I mean. LOL "Slipping the Surly Bonds" thumb_2038082.jpg

Wow, I love this...it could be Mt. Ranier too, when you get down to it (up to it?) most mountains have crags and missing bits up there. Great shot, Bill!

I agree with Denise. It's not missing enough of its top to be St Helens. I'm sure it's Rainier. Very nice capture, BTW.

Jip ... it's absolutely Mt. Rainier. Nooooooo doubt about it! :) Mount St. Helens looks like a pancake (relatively speaking). Rainier is 14,410 feet, and St. Helens is 8350(ish). (The one in the background on the left would be Mount Adams, in case you're interested.) Aside from all that ... this is a fantastic shot! The way the clouds are meeting there is really interesting. Glad you posted this one!
