Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Your photo brings up memories from long ago ... I was on the roadside of a deserted place on Route 40, in the north of Argentina, in front of a barn just like that. An old Pick Up truck approached fast down the road, and steered aiming at the barn. Four guys jumped out of the back and started trying to stop it pulling at the sides, laughing and yelling, but the truck moved too fast and crashed with a bang against the side of the barn. I thought it would tear it down, but it just sagged a bit. The driver stepped down, laughing too, and seeing my total surprise explained to me that he had no brakes, that this was his way of stopping, and that the barn was choke full of cow skins, so it made for a perfect shock absorber ... I swear it's true, and after all this years I can recall it as if it just happened ...

It is astonishing how nature reconstitutes all her ingredients!

Great shot. I love a good bit of rust. LMAO at bugatti. My mate's thing is to go everywhere with a can of fly spray. Why? He starts his 4wd with it. A quick spray in the air intake and he's good to go!!!!!!

bugatti's story adds a great touch to your wonderful photograph! This barn looks like it might have been used for similar purposes, doesn't it? Nice image!

Wish I could top or even remotely match Bugatti's story...but I don't have any old barn stories in my kit:-( So, I'll just say, congrats again Marilyn...you've brought us up to date again on the saga of your sagging beach barns. I enjoy every view...as they slip ever closer to falling flat:)

Wonderful capture!

Way beyond rustic, in fact, just plain rusty, in this neatly POVed capture, Maz!

Ah, Mother Nature has a way with things like that, doesn't she? Fantastic shot though! And the colour (rust I'm assuming) is so vibrant. I'll have to see if I can find the pictures of some barns that I took.
