I see the little piece of crab leg and I think of broiled crab legs or crab cakes, I see the mussels and I think of steamed mussels swimming in a rich butter sauce, but then I see the sea gull feather and I remember the gull swooping down and stealing French Fries right off my plate:) A neat beach scene Carin...fits perfectly with your series from Namibia.

What a vast array of mussel shells atop the sand, Carin! At first glance I thought they were large beetles or cockroaches, lol. Great texture depicted, and the feather, possibly that of a gull, adds a bit of contrast and size relation to this fine image.

What wonderful colors! When I was much younger we could find live black shelled mussels along our Southern California beaches. With the polluted waters we have today you can't find shells on the beach anymore.
