Description

Some of you might have followed the news from South Africa that a white extremist right wing leader has been murdered on his farm last night. I cannot begin to explain to you the ripples it is causing through our country. At the same time the leader of the ANC Youth League keep on singing a song: "Kill the Boer, Kill the Farmer" at meetings in public after a court order has banned him to do so. The situation has turned totally political with extreme views on the two poles, emotions are flaring up and this huge mess has the potential to turn our country into a state of civil war. There are many, many South Africans (including me) freaking out at the possible consequences of this mess. Please therefore keep our country in your thoughts and pray for calm and peace amongst ALL people. And to add insult to injury - the soccer worldcup is due to start in 2 months here in SA!) Thank you for your continued support in comments and favs! Stay well! Hugs, Carin xx

Carin do not worry whatever try what they will not be successful. It will be safely in the Hands of our almighty God.This wont be the last murder. It will become worse as it is the will of the Lord. There is Hope. The eternal kingdom of the Lord. It will eventually come and the Lord is giving time so more soles will be saved and i am personally longing for that eternal kingdom as i and i believe as all His children is of this corrupted world. May the Lord be with each sole every day from now to eternity. God Bless. Superb capture Carin. My eyes is full of tears. Tears just want to flow out of my eyes.

We were treated to a really thoughtful balanced and considered commentary from a young SA journalist who probably voiced the concerns of the peaceful majority. He pointed out that, as here, integration and mutual respect is common amongst the educated, but that the danger comes from the poorer and uneducated on all sides. I suspect the soccer could cause you more problems in the end, what a nightmare!

it seems politics, on the extreme sides, is rearing its ugly head in all parts of the world today... I agree with durleybeachbum, the under educated are more likely to resort to violence to express their will for control over others....

Stellar focus in this beautiful image, Carin! This may come as a surprise to you, but I haven't seen or heard anything from the local media in re your potentially explosive situation in South Africa. I don't pray, but my hopes and thoughts are with you. And I hope you are well armed concerning the inflammatory events.

I am surrounded by South Africans at work and sad as it is the feeling I get from all is they love their country but it was time to get out. Quite a few of them have become Australian citizens of late just so that they can stay if their jobs finish. Don't let things hold you there if your head says you should leave. Things will do you no good if that ANC youth leader carries out his theats.

I read the news in today's paper. Personally I'm not surprised he ended that way given his history. Perhaps I'm naive but I would hope that the country could unite behind the South African team at the World Cup. When I was younger I remember seeing a hippy and a redneck in friendly discussion about our local football team. In any case this is a wonderful image and sends a hopeful message. My thoughts are with South Africa and you and your family. Stay safe Carin.

A beautiful picture Carin.. I have read with dismay, the situation in your beautiful Country.. It does not help the ANC leader singing that song in public over and over! .. He must know the extremist's on the 'white' side will react.. Every Country the native population has driven the 'whites out of, and taken over self rule (except as far as I can see, yours!), has fallen into chaos, civil war or is broke and living of aid!... I hope this does end up the fate of your as well.... I REALLY hope! Rob

A wonderful image, Carin. I was wondering about you and a couple of other South Africans when I heard about the murder of that white supremacist. I'm hoping cooler heads will prevail soon, your beautiful country and people deserve peace.
