Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Hey there Mar! I love the water drops on the flower and to capture the bug in there is a bonus.. Great photo :) Hope youve been well xx

Very nice. And on the right side, it almost looks like a walking stick or praying mantis too. Probably just a stem, but kind of neat anyways. Hope you had a great Easter. Aloha

'Ere-we-go again! (sorry) Some had to say it, I'm afraid. The little b's eat the petals of my dahlias but I cant kill them, they are such good mothers. I like the pic, too!

Striking magenta streaked colors and textures in this magnifico macro, Maz, and the lower life form adds a bit of irony to the whole image. Overall, a top notch bit of photography.

Oh, she's gorgeous. I like earwigs as much as I like woodlice and you can always tell the males from the females by their little calipers. I forgot what the fancy-schmancy name for them is, but females have sleeker ones...males possess more curved ones that look more ominous and are equally useless. At any rate, I love these little critters, but have seen precious few of them lately. They're good for your garden too...sort of; keep them well fed with compost debris and smaller critters and they'll avoid treating your garden like a salad. Earwig populations have declined a bit in Chicago, so I'm glad to see this little lady. As for the flower. WOW! More gorgeous-osity! Marvelous work, and well...since it has an earwig in it I'm touched even more. Stunning! Do you have other shots of this little lady? By the way, those little tweezers on back are totally useless...they only raise up and open a bit to mimic the mandibles of something terrifying whenever the earwig in question encounters someone or something in need of a good bluff. Wonderful shot!
