Description
Back in the days before digital film was pushed to some interesting extremes. The original negative was shot with Ilford HP5 pushed to 1600 ASA. Scanned on a Epson Perfection 4490 and tinted on the computer(I still enjoy hand tinting more) This is a ballerina with the Atlanta Ballet Company Taking a moment before she goes back on stage. I used to crew for this center for the arts and it gave me some great photo oppertunities. See also and a smile. Thanks again Promiselamb for the tips

Beautifuuly captured!

Oh so you tinted it from B+W? Very clever! It seems strange to see a dancer smoking!

It almost seems to me, as if she is having a break...somehow already looking a bit exhausted from a hard routine - needing a smoko-break ! (speaking from experience - no not smoking!) A very natural and classic capture, BB

I LOVED hand tinting too! I really like this pose.

Outstanding capture! I really like the candid, private moment frozen in time. It shows the person so much better than any stage performance. Ironic how these dancers are so fit and graceful and lead such unhealthy lives.
