Description

March 1990 and it was the marriage of my uncle's third son Glenn to Hope Schefler. Now the difference with this wedding was that it was a black tie affair held at the Pierre Hotel in mid-town Manhattan with 250 people attending and a full dinner after the nuptials. I don't know for sure but I was told the wedding came in at $250,000. You see the father of the bride was Sylvan Schefler of Drexel Burnham Lambert. He was Michael Milken's boss for those of you who remember but retired before the bond scandal hit the company, reportedly taking a $55 million dollar retirement package with him. Hope did not depend on her father for her success and made her first million before she was thirty. If you are ever asked what the meaning of "poor relation" is you can point to me because I am the living definition of that term.

It's good to see you back on deck, Sir. Having paid my dues early on within the wedding circuit I can tell you that you definitely caught one of the essential "money shots" here. The expressions are perfect too. Despite what professional guests may think .. wedding photography is far from easy.  In fact, it's ... umm .. I better stop right there.  ;-) Terry

Great capture! Next to weddings for difficult shots are the funeral and memorial services.

The bride reminds me of the actress, Ally Sheedy. Beautiful lighting. The guest are visible, but unobtrusive, and all focus is on the bride and groom and especially on the bride. The shading of the guests' legs keeps them from being a distraction and completes the illusion of an intimate circle surrounding the bride and groom. Beautifully done. Not having any fabulously wealthy relations, saves me from being the "poor relation"

Very interesting dress, which in this shot makes her appear armless. Obviously this didn't inhibit her talents!

very intersting vignette depicting the photo, and a real 'old time' patina.

The lighting in this scene is really spectacular. It's like a big spot light from above shone on Hope and Glenn only. Tada! Hope looks very confident and her smile emphasizes that. Very nice wedding photo.
