Description

Days gone by, out dated, obsolete, old, rusted, set aside, forgotten...a remnant of time let slip.... as with equipment, so too, set aside, some civic values... in the old days, you and your neighbors we a part of a community... if your neighbor's harrow, broke, you would gladly lend him yours, just as he would do the same for you... a community... communities are on the decline, too much ME, ME, ME. Sort of like a Agent Smith from the Matrix Movies....he was so concerned with achieving a sameness that his world was consumed by his self... we don't share that much anymore, it takes a major disaster for some to act... and then there are those who feel that self-sacrifice is an evil that must be stamped out.... but that is their decision... I wish them well.. me, going to help when I can, how I can... I'll push cars out of snow drifts, help little old ladies with heavy objects, lend my neighbour equipment when they need it..., because I can... Just remember, it takes one ton of iron to make two tons of rust... snow and freezing rain last night, parts of the province were shut down, power blackouts, feeling of foreboding...this morning, slush turned to ice, blinding light...winter's icy wrath shall not be denied... comments welcome........please enjoy!

Cool shot. We had horrible weather here in Michigan all week. Rain and cold. Lost power, too.

Man, do I ever agree with you, and...great photo too! People seem to have forgotten that you actually get farther by sharing and cooperation than you do going solo. I thought we'd have a blackout up here, lots of snow and wind was terrible. I heard there was a 50 car pileup south on Highway 2 near Olds. Yep...Welcome to April in Alberta.

If this was in an art gallery, everyone would think...woo, kool artwork, but out there on the plains it's just a hunk of junk ! As for common sense and values, I've got 'em as well, but maybe the X, Y and Z generations have lost the plot as everything is served to them on a platter. ~Cheers~

When I was very, very young, I remember seeing barn raisings taking place. And often I would see harvest festivals where many families would go from one farm to another until the entire community's crops were all in and then there would be a big harvest feast for celebrate. This doesn't seem to happen much any more but I know some truck farmers and when one needs help, it only takes a phone call to a neighbor and help is on the way.
