I am 58 years young, live in Johannesburg, South Africa and I'm a true product of my continent. I love the bush, the animals, sunshine, sunsets - oh well, anything to do with nature. I am unmarried and have three sons - 37, 33 and 30 respectively and three granddaugters aged 12, 6 and 4 respectively and obviously the light of my life! Photography has always been a passion and I have loved it since I can remember. I was still using a SLR camera and only switched to digital only in late 2007! My other passion is travel and I have been lucky enough to have travelled fairly widely. There are however still many, many places I would love to visit "one day." I am truly an amateur photographer and do it merely as a hobby. So please be gentle when you comment on my work. :-) Thank you Piet, my dear friend, for convincing me to place my work on Renderosity. You owe me one! Hugs, Carin xx

OHH MY what a beauty for the eyes. I love this series alot. These golden brown soft looking and sometimes red rocks are amazing and you are do good at capturing them. And WOW! how HUGE they are. They are double beautiful against the blue sky.

Excellent capture. You get the feeling of being in the land of the giants. A very impressive place where the rocks are the size of houses.

OMG, no denying Spitzkoppe is one huge rock formation after seeing the size relationship in this striking shot, Carin! Spitzkoppe seems so softly sculptured, as opposed to being sharp and craggy, possibly because of the abrasive effects of winds and sandstorms in the area. Incidentally, using a search engine, I tried translating the word, Spitzkoppe, into English, but to no avail. I believe "koppe" means "head" in English, and Spitz possibly meaning Spits, but that's about it.

I don't have the strength but I have the desire to do this. Especially since it would seem the likelihood of finding a scorpion or snake on the rocks on the way are slight...not much for them to hide in. :-) Fantastic pov.
