Description

The cows & calves have started to come back on the park. Only two at the moment but they were in the field I usually walk through. I kept the girls to the path, as I won't let them into the fields the calves are in as I don't want the calves frightened (the girls just ignore them) but also the cows are very protective as it should be. The brown cow was baby sitting the white cows calf, she was near the path. When she saw us, (I always talk to the cows so they get to know me & the girls then they won't be worried by us, well thats the plan) she thought she had better get back to her baby just in case :o) They grouped together to protect the babies & kept their eyes on the girls until they were out of sight!!!!!

oh yep they are protective definitly, there is an experiment in germany with naturals herds of cows outside in on a large feed and they found out, that it's always a cow and not a bull who is boss of the herd

I'm glad that I'm not the only one that talks to every creature that I come up on. It also keeps the birb watchers away. They think that I am crazy. Nice collage of the cows. Dana

I have heard that they can trample you to death if worried, and especially when nursing their young. Wonderful shots Barbara, hugs Jane and furs xxx

I wouldn't go near them with young around! There's been too many people around here killed by cows. Once they stomp someone, they don't stop until he's done!
