Description

The Eiffel Tower was constructed between 1887 and 1889 and was opened on March 31, 1889 for the Exposition Universelle, a world's fair marking the centennial celebration of the French Revolution. It is located on the Champ de Mars in Paris. It is a 19th century iron lattice design. 300 workers joined 18,038 pieces of puddled iron using 2.5 million rivets. The tower is 324m (1,063-ft) high and was the tallest structure in the world until 1930. This picture was taken in May 1998 and later scanned. Thanks for visiting, Sig...
