Description

Some of my favored shots come by mere chance: I was taking a shot of the building in the background, the Rudolfinum Concert Hall in Jan Palach's Square in Prague, when a clanking streetcar ambushed me from the back. I like its quaint aspect (it belongs to the old generation, which is being replaced by newer, less noisy streetcars), and the gaudy advertisement. In the end, far from spoiling a (rather conservative) shot, I believe that the unexpected entrance of the streetcar has added some pepper to the POV! Do you agree? The Rudolfinum Concert Hall in Prague is located alongside the river, and is the second most significant Neo-Renaissance structure in Prague, after the National Theatre. The Rudolfinum was built between 1876-1884. In the early 20th century, it played an important role in the development of Czechoslovakia, with the seat of the state parliament sited here between the two world wars. Today, the Rudolfinum is home to the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra. Thank you for your kind comments.
