Description

This is for you Andrea (durleybeachbum) .. you've asked a few times to see more of the Hollow. We were out there for four glorious days and the camera was kept busy as usual. A neighbor has some wonderful woods across the road from us where I shot the Trillium and the Skunk Cabbage. We have the Red Trillium also, but for some reasone it's way behind the ones on the neighbor's wooded hill. The Long-spurred Violet shots are from the edge of the woods, on another neighors property. The rest was is the Hollow. I'm behind on visiting everyone's gallery again .. I thought I was close to getting caught up, but I guess that will not happen in my lifetime, LOL! I'll keep trying anyway. I hate to miss anyone's beautiful art. Thank you so much for stopping to see my attempts at doing some digital manipulations of photos, and thank you so much for the faves and especially the comments! I just love reading the wonderful comments!

This is fabulous, Rita! I miss going on little expeditions in the local woods, admiring the woodland wildflowers, so, I appreciate you bringing your explorations to us. The red trillium is amazing! You've shown these crisp and lovely photos off beautifully. I love how you framed the individual plants against their area of origin. Many thanks to Andrea for inspiring this show of the hollow! I could easily see this published in a horticulture magazine. It's always great to see these areas of nature that still thrive without being destroyed by humans.

That trout lilly looks like it could fold that petal down and eat the bee lol. A lot of new flowers I've never seen or even hear of. What a wonderful place to be.

My word the Hollow is really waking up now and there is a definate green tinge to the trees and the grass. This is a wonderful collage of all the lovely flowers and I haven't seen the trout lily before, it looks very cheery. Super captures and very nicely displayed.

I'm in love with that violet! Of these flowers, we only have white trillium and skunk cabbage; all the others are new to me. Keep sharing the Hollow's flora...it's fun to see what over there compared to here. Lovely montage, Rita!
