Description
Not quite spring yet at the Hollow when this was taken a couple of weeks ago. It was one of those warmer days, so drove out and spent the day. Not much green to be seen, just the fir trees, and bits of grasses coming up here and there. You can see the fields just past the wild raspberry canes. Murphy is looking back to see where I am. And yes, LOL, there are pictures without the dogs .. somewhere.
I downloaded Paint.NET v3.5.4 a couple of days ago, have been playing with it so haven't been around much. Lot's of catching up to do. Paint.NET is a free open source program, and so far I'm loving it. I took this photo into it, duplicated it, did a pencil effect with it, then reduced the opacity of it to let the colors of the first layer show through. Took it into PSP and messed around with it some more. I think I like the results. Some honest opinions and thoughts on what I might have done to make it better would be appreciated.
Many thanks for the wonderful and thoughtful comments on the previous post, and for the faves. Gonna be starting to catch up with you all little by little, thank you for your patience, and I'm ever so grateful for you support.

Great job, Rita. Never been to the Hollow, physically, but in spirit it has become one of my favorite places. Thanks for bringing it to all of us! Oh, and your are right, Paint Net is excellent. In fact all my work is with paint net after the Apo and Incendia creations.

An excellent capture of Murphy in his favourite scene. I'm sure he wants to show you something over the hill so is telling you to hurry. I like what you have done with this capture and I'm looking forward to seeing some more. I love how the frame makes it stand out too. I of course must go and take a look at that program.
