Description

11:00 Saturday morning conversation, driving along the northern edge of the Olympic Peninsula ... Bill: Did you post something before we left and mention you were going to be gone for a few days? Tara: No. Did you? Bill: Uh ... no. Oops! Sorry about that, you guys! We thought we'd have better internet access, but didn't get hooked up until Saturday afternoon. We're on the Olympic Peninsula, and will be back in town on Sunday. This is Lake Crescent, just west of Port Angeles, Washington. The lake is approximately 600 feet deep. This area was covered in glaciers during the last ice age, and we have the scoured, U-shaped valleys that are associated with glacial movement. The lake is cold, and clear as a bell. I'm standing at the west end of the lake, looking back east. What a gorgeous place!

This is a beautiful shot. I got home from the hospital today so I'm catching up on the galleries. You are having much more fun being away from home that I did!

What a gorgeous view! And cold water too! Funny, but I love water that's cold enough to swim in...well...I love looking at it. Glacier-induced lakes are cool too! Everything here is so clear and crisp, so wonderfully colored. THAT is a place I need to visit...and I'm putting it on my list!
