Description

This shows how much of the dunes have been lost. At one time, they started just to the right of the parking lot. The X shows where the barn was and that's about a mile away. I took this from a hill above the parking lot. The barn you see in the distance is another half mile or so. I walked there today as well, it's still safe--though who knows for how long?

That's amazing! The changes there are just constant, aren't they? Great shot showing what's going on.

Who was it that said, "the more things change, the more they stay the same?" Probably some ancient Greek philosopher.

This is incredible. I love the composition of this shot in the way that the water seems to encroach onto so much of the shore. Those cars and people look as if they're fighting a last stand against an aggressive sea, At that very moment!. This is amazing work, both artistically and in a more documentary way as well. WOW! And as an aside note, Frank Herbert would have loved this shot...the whole Dune Series was inspired by stuff like this, only a wee bit farther north. Funny how that works.

This is an awesome place to walk. Wind, sea & sun plus what ever flies in or out. Great looking waves back there. Dana
