Description
This is just one of three trees loaded with the Great Blue Heron's nests. It is also the smaller of the three located near Akron, Ohio. Also the only one not encumbered by power lines.

Hmmm I wonder why it is this tree and not many of the others to chose from? Why do you think that is? ;) I have heard the lighting here is better later in the day. Now they tell us....

Hopefully, the tree won't be in full leaf when the babies hatch. There should be a lot of action then!

Wow, that's a lot of nests, but if that's the only tree that's unencumbered by power lines, then that explains it. Excellent capture! Thank you for showing it to us. I'd never seen anything like this :)

Well that's my lesson for the day, I'd always assumed they nested on the ground, being the large birds they are. (but that's what I get for assuming) Great catch! : )
