Description

------------- Chronicles of the King – Aeromithia

Insufficient are my words to capture the vision that is Aeromithia. To describe her without the word ‘beautiful’ is to cheat beauty of its greatest representative. And yet, her intellect, her agility, her sheer charm lay all before her low. Lost was my heart on first occasion we met. Her pious dedication, though, might forever stand between us. For as I stand as Dragonmage, and hold aloft the lantern of the greatest magics, focused and powerful, to smite all bearers of evil will, her faith and her sisterhood put us at odds.

Aeromithia comes from the northern districts, deep in the Black Swamp, where life is not to be taken for granted. Dangers and evils in hordes come to those who dwell there, far from civilized lands. Hidden within those moors, amidst the swarms that feed reptilian horrors, is a secret sisterhood. The secret is poorly kept. Most know of the sisters of Alaertha, the worshippers of Isahaera, the Incantatrix. Her place amongst the Gods is unclear. Some paint Her as the mirror opposite of Hecate. Others see Her as the divine embodiment of magic itself. Still others say She was but the first Incantatrix, raised to Godhood through Her piety and dedication to Her cause, the protection of magic itself. I fear none know the full truth of it.

As an Incantatrix, Aeromithia sees the defense of magius, the ecology of the Ether and its denizens, as more important than the great deeds that magic can accomplish. Something as minor as a Magic Missile tests her patience. Throwing Fireballs about for no real cause may elicit a magical response. The presence of Necromancers may well throw her into a rage. Her disdain for magics overly used would be troublesome were it not lesser amongst her attributes. Her heart is the purest I have seen in a being. No malice corrupts her soul, even while in rage over the ravages of magic pointlessly wasted. Her love of innocents and protection of nature challenges the most devout Druid. And her zeal to see darkness put down would stand her beside Prince Adamar in pious commitment.
