Description
A new visit, the third, to my imaginary world of Nerbja!
This is a remote jungle close to the equator, much like a rainforest on Earth.
First time we were there was back in 2004 (Renderosity time), the second was back in 2007
"Nerbja is the 5th moon around the planet of Tanurs, and has been sparsely colonized, mostly by humans of earthly origin.Conditions on this moon are very similar to those on Earth, and the lifeforms are not all that different either. But some of them are of course strange. The moon is interseting from both commercial and scientic viewpoints. Nerbja is the home of many interesting organisms. For the moment the inhabitants have specialized in harvesting the mushroom-like growths, that live all over the moon, in different species and varieties.
They produce substances that are mainly used in medicine, the most famous being the "age-blocker", which in many cases can prolong youth by 50 years, even up to 125 years in some sensitive individuals. The organisms can't be cultivated (or at least it hasn't been worked out how so far) because of intricate biological mechanisms - reminicent again of some funghi found on earth. The majority of the moon is still more or less unexplored, and research groups continiously look for new intersting territories and lifeforms."

I made this 2010 visit a while ago, somewhat inspired by the "Avatar" movie (yes, me too!), the entire scene is elaborately built with the intention of going "camera hiking" in Vue. But I didn't like the outcome, and, as it often happens with my sci-fi scenes I abandoned the project. I have many never finished projects of this kind, I sort of lose inspiration making them. Now I looked at this one again, and thought, well, it has some potential after all :)
Vue 7.4 render, minor postwork with Photoshop.

Thanks for your comments so far, I really appreciate them. - Sometimes you work too much or too long on a "project" (I worked on this on-and-off a week or so, that's a long time for me), and you get "used to it" so you cannot judge if it's good or bad, and focusing on what's NOT as you would have wanted it. Then it's a good thing to let others do the judging. Now I feel like maybe do a little hiking in the jungle afterall. Thanks again - Lars

the oranges and reds contrast beautifully with the soft greens. it's an enticing environment. i love the dragon-like beings in the background. their distance makes them even more real.
