Description

Well, it was an Army Coastal Artillery post from 1897 to 1953. Quite ZOOM worthy:) Today, this is part of Fort Worden State Park on the Olympic Peninsula. It is in Port Townsend, Washington. Fort Worden is filled with historic buildings and has beautiful camping facilities facing both the Puget Sound to the east and the Strait of Juan de Fuca to the north. Will post our campgrounds next. Gee, I must be spoiled by our golden coloured sands on the nearby beaches... I wonder if this is this the result of old volcanic activity ? never-the-less an interesting panorama, looking forward to some camping site pix... BB

Such an incredible beach. The slope is perfect, it's sandy and smooth, and the tide was out. What more could one hope for? Great shot!

This is quite marvelous and yeah, it's a zoomer! I really like the way I was pulled in all the way to those houses in the background! WOW! What a place this must be. I love the clarity and the lively sense of color as well as the overall composition. This is quite a nice shot!

Wow! The size of the 'driftwood' washed up could sink a small boat - logs! Great view with the clouds, Clive

Cool capture of the beachfront property, sand and shoreline, Bill. Doesn't look like any Army post I've ever seen or been around, and I was at several.
