Description

A quick recap of this series; A space colony missed their target by millions of miles after traveling over 100 years. The Captain and 1st Lieutanant, upon awakening from suspended animation first, quickly discover this problem. They try to make corrections when a wormhole opens up in their path. They rush to awaken their leader for his help only to discover his animation chamber was damaged and he has perished. They awaken his Number One as an alternative, but to no avail. They enter the wormhole. Their former leader’s image appears on the front view screen assuring them not to worry. He will help them. They transit the wormhole having some scary moments and arrive in a new unknown galaxie. They try to make sense of their predicament only to be hijacked by a band of space pirates who want them as slaves. The Captain saves the day by initiating secret commands which allows the captain to regain control of the spaceship. He thwarts the pirates efforts. All but two pirates are killed. They are forced to flee in their shuttle. Soon thereafter, a habitable planet is discovered nearby. During a memorial service for their beloved Leader, they receive favorable reports about the planet. Below are the links to my previous posts for this storyline:

We pick up the storyline at this point. After a few weeks more travel, the huge colony ship reached the antipated planet and entered a standard orbit at a safe distance. Several more investigative probes were sent to circle the planet for more intelligence. After about a week, the data was gathered together and run though the huge ships computer. More than enough information was on hand to make an intelligent decision to send down an exploratory band of crewmen to check out the surface. The Captain and Lieutenant were among those that went in the first shuttle. The found a hospitable looking landing site near a pristine lake and landed there. They found out first-hand that the planet was indeed fit for their species to inhabit. Further explorations continued to support bringing down more crewmen, so the Captain requested two more shuttles to come down with a host of crewmen and enough materials to set up a primitive base of operations. The Captain and Lieutenant were ecstatic at the prospects for this new planet and couldn't contain their enthusiasm as the next two shuttles came into sight. Thank you for taking a peek! A happy ending (is it?) to a wonderful story! I have really loved the emotive characters in this story and these two exuberant crewmen rejoicing are another great example of great posing and expressions! Excellent work!
