Description

I did it a long time prayer before eating. Sometimes I forget. It is many church singles groups that came together for the BBQ and was looking for 65 to show up but around 40 did show up.

Agnostic, myself...but if it helps the food go down, no problem! I only Pray that it isn't Tofu, or some soy dish my Wife has not slipped in on me.

I don't know why, but there is a particular way Americans look at a social prayer like this! It's distinctly American, even though not all Americans share the need for such a custom. I think it's a combination of reverence and social behavior, kind of like members of a group cementing their relationship with each other. It's touching, and uniquely fragile. I wish both religious and non-religious people could actually see that. This image captures it perfectly, and I love the distinct personalities you can see during moments like this. And of course, the anticipation for great food! There's always that one guy at the social prayer thinking: "Oh Lord, let this prayer end soon so we can all go eat."
