Description
I'm flipping coins to decide which to upload, fractals or photos .. the photos won out this time! So another montage. I included some honeybees, just so you could see how big the Bumblebee queen is in comparison to the the worker honeybee!
I've just learned a bit about Bumblebees. Briefly, only the queen survives the winter. In the spring, she begins to search for a nesting site, once she finds it, shd then starts to build up a small supply of honey. She lays her eggs, nurtures them through the larval stage, and when they are old enough to be workers, she begins to lay more eggs, relying now on the workers to keep the hive clean, to care for the eggs and larvae and keep the hive supplied with food.
We just came back the Hollow Saturday, another beautiful five days of sunshine and hiking, sunshine and working, and sunshine and picture taking! Life is good!!
Many thanks to all of you who stopped look at the previous posting, and left such wonderful comments. I'm thrilled that so many of enjoyed the wildflowers at the Hollow.
Thank you all for the faves and the support you have given me, even when I haven't had time to stop at your galleries and support you.

I read you were in a fork in the road when it came to pictures or fractal... this would of been the perfect theme to use both... I don't know if you ever saw the Green Hornet back in the late 60s, but they used an illustrated Hornet on a wild background that could of been mistaken as fractal... I suggest you Mix it up and have fun with it. Cool pictures, the only thing I learned is the Bubble be likes to BEE on bottem - lol

Rita these are mighty fine photos of our much needed little friends. I love the work they do but I don't like it when I am swimming and they wish to visit me. You should see that number. Wouldn't want a picture of it either! Love this collage!

A very beautiful collage of these lovely clear photos and how brilliantly caught they are too. I never have much luck at getting these little fellows as they move so fast. I love watching the bumble bees in the foxgloves as they disappear right inside. The little honeybee looks quite delicate beside the bumblebee and yet their sting is so much worse. I think the bumblebee bites.
