Description

We were hiking as usual, picking up trash along the trails. There were lots of folks hunting for mushrooms in the park that day, we were not among them. They were mostly in the lower marshy areas. But high on a hillside, Brenda cried, "Oh my goodness! Look!" And there were the biggest two Morels she had ever seen - one standing tall, the other on its side. (The biggest I'd seen too, but I've only seen one before this so my pinion is of little value. lol! I said Wow! anyway; they were Very big.) Measurements revealed one to be five inches tall, the other six. Moreover, their girth was two and a half inches and three inches, respectively. Rest assured, they were delicious! Thanks for looking, Ken

Wow... you have morels? I've been told mine are spotty at best. LOL Oh, maybe that's another sort of morel... These are really big and I commend you for injesting them to prove their freshness - just in case they were not in prime condition you made the sacrafice so others would know they were not tainted...LOL This is a really clean shot. Were you laying in the dirt to take these? I would think you might want to check this area again in a week to see if there are more. Don't they grow in clumps? Don't know much about morels...

What a whopper...a meal or a feast in itself for a small family - (measured on my screen 9", lol) - have seen these ones mainly in Asian dishes, but there you go ! You guys must definitely go back and mark the spot, as they usually drop some very fine dust, well and that means more, more, more... BTW fine pic and lucky find, BB
