Description

I hoped to get a shot of these chicks as they flutter short distances around the garden. I nearly stood on this one, sat on the path under my apple tree. The light was very low so had to push the ISO right up to get a shot, making it (very grainy). It is so good to have these breeding in the garden. If I find any snails I put them in the middle of the lawn so they have a chance. If the Song thrush doesn't get them they are safe until I find them again another day.

Stunning capture my friend even using such high ISO. You can use this free program to remove noise. http://www.neatimage.com/

What an adorable baby and you did a marvelous job of defining the feathers and details in the face.

Kevin - he is adorable. Yes, I agree, and I hope they are making a comeback after their numbers plummeted a few years ago. It looks like the sparrows are on the increase again, thank goodness. We have umpteen in the garden. I only wish I could take pics like you do.

A great shot, Kevin! I can hear the adults every day, but have seen no babies this year.

A wonderful capture of this beautiful little chick and how lovely to find him in your garden. I find here that if they aren't flying when they come out of the nest they don't survive as there are a lot of cats around me here. I spend a lot of time shooing them out of my garden.
