Description

A forest which is being cut down in Tokai, Cape Town, as the Pine trees are not indigenous to South Africa. I will not go into all the pro/con debate, but it does seem a pity. The native vegetation is wonderful and less thirsty, just not as tall for a cool quiet walk. I will enjoy it while it lasts! Clive

I love the shapes that wood takes on naturally; and not native? At one point the earth was all connected, so EVERYTHING is essentially native.

Hmmm ... not native? An interesting concept. I agree with Denise ... perhaps these pines came from Mars? There's something wonderful about pine straw ... but don't ask a golfer! :P
