My name is Clive, resident in Cape Town, South Africa. I am an amateur photographer who has been enjoying the medium in a more serious manner since 2003.
I took a trip to the UK armed with a Minolta Maxxum 7000 that I had inherited from my Dad.
Out of the holiday snaps, I managed to get a few that I felt were quite good, but had no idea of how I managed to get them 'right'.
Since then I have done a couple of courses in the darkroom and joined a local photographic society where I was on the committee for a while.
Hopefully I am getting it 'right' more often these days.
I have a Minolta Maxxum 7 and being tied into the lens system, the Sony A100 DSLR was my introduction to the digital world. This has recently been upgraded to the Alpha SLT-A55 and I have to admit that I have shot more digital in the last five years than film!
My daughter Kristen (Kris10) and son Sean (fotoSean) have accounts here too, in the hope that they will learn too and share my passion! Sadly they have been rather quiet of late, much like their dad...
August 2015 marks the end of my 3 years as coordinator for the Photographic section of Renderosity. What a wonderful time of my life that I thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you all for the opportunity!
Keep the smile alive,
Clive

And in my family they are squiddies! They must be an import like the pines. They have become a nuisance in parts of the UK.

A cute little guy. The only time I don't appreciate them is when they get so bold as to take the top off my bird feeder and reach in for handfuls of seeds:) Good pic Clive.

Yours looks much like ours here. Oops! I hope that doesn't mean they've invaded! Wonderful capture ... such a cutie!

Great shot!

I like them, whatever you want to call them. Mine are very well fed here, and happy too, since they know there's food to be found. It's not uncommon to see five or six of them grazing the ground beneath the bird feeders. Excellent capture of this face-to-face encounter!

I know that they are supposed to be pests but they are so cute and this one is checking you out Clive. Wonderful capture. Dana

It's hard to think you didn't see one sooner since we are covered in them here. I have photos of me feeding the white squirrels in Washington D.C. when I was 3 years old and I have pictures of my daughter being chased by a mad squirrel when she was 2. I can't imagine a world without them. Fabulous wildlife capture here. Good pov.
