Description

Ultra Fractal 5.03, with 6-layers. The formulas are courtesy of Janet Parkes, Samuel Monnier, David Makin (his new 3D formula again), and the Standard ucl - gradient. Firstly thank you to everyone who took up yesterday's titling challenge. Interestingly they all had a watery expression, and all worthy contenders. The first of them (Grandmama's Shipwrecked Crown") caught my imagination. Possibly because a little scratching might have disclosed riches untold (joking, sorry). Now to this image, David's 3D formula is abused hilariously. It was the initial inspiration for the exploration but eventually contributed nothing more than the three black lines- and in two layers at that! The bottom layer has a most subtle purpose. It actually consists of two colours (red and orange) angled in two blocks across the picture. With this knowledge you will recognise how they effect the various extremities of the circular shapes. The shapes in the orange zone are (you guessed it) orange, and the ones below are red. But..but, there is one astride the two zones. This is torn asunder with one part orange and the other red. I suppose it thus becomes the focal point of the composition. Most peculiar! As to the title, David's contribution is the source but feel free to come up with better ideas if your imaginations lead otherwise. One of my friends, a few days ago, said pictures should speak for themselves. Well I suppose some suffer at the hands of the poor artist but all need the interested participation of viewer for the soliloquy to become a conversation Cliff.

Ah, Cliff--another lovely abstract fractal from you. I like it. It would make a lovely print on shimmery slinky fabric. Hope you are not like some men who find the idea of fabric shopping a thing of horror.
