Description

I can remember Oh, I can remember Just a little bit further Stretch! . . . Just a little bit more And I can touch it I am certain! It's more than a mere memory I'm so sure! It has to be . . . So clear it is Ever still That vision Always perfect Always the same Thousands upon thousands Of moments to choose from Yet this one returns Again and again Walking towards me She smiles Generating A crystal moment Never to fade Till I And perhaps not then A warmth Like Summer dawn Melted my evening Into a reflection Of that smile Yet no word passed Between us We only shared a pause In our stride Which lasted An hour long moment Was it recognition Or ... I'll never know As swiftly as she entered My existence She passed through it Walking on to Brooklyn ... Yet twenty years on She smiles still And I, as ever, Smile back -T. R. Bolan, April 30, 2010 I thought you might enjoy a bit of a change from some of the elder writings.  ;-) Enjoy an inspired weekend! Terry

Wonderful poem, I like the ending especially. Well, I have a thing for bridges, and the Brooklyn is my all time favorite. A lovely romantic setting for your poem. I had planned to post a picture of Central Park's Bow Bridge today, I wish I could write lovely poetry like you to go with my bridge picture. Wonderful work Terry!

The day before you posted this, I walked the Brooklyn Bridge. I was, like you, going toward Manhattan. It was sunny, warm, crowded and my feet hurt. I had an excellent time! Two times is not a tradition, but I'm working on making it a tradition to walk this bridge on each trip to NYC. Wonderful bridge! Excellent poem! I can feel the strength and magic of the memory, and experience. Sometimes the experience stays, more strongly than "mere memory" Very nice image and poem!
