Description
As some of you may know, a baby dove fell out of a nest by our house and we have been helping to care for it. We take it in at night and bring it out during the day for the parents to feed it. This is just before we brough it in 2 nights ago. What you don't see is the giant green and white poop it left on my hand just out of the crop! ;)

Awww - look at the fluff still on him! He is so young! We used to have a pair of doves nesting just by the front door and I have seen many, many chicks being raised by mom and dad! I had a good giggle about the poop on your hand!! That is unfortunately part and parcel of the fun! Wonderful work Kort - not just the image but also helping with this little fellow!

Haha, that is so funny. A similar thing happened to me with a neighbors fallen baby bird. Wonderful capture and story. Hope the parents can bring it safely home soon. Aloha

Obviously you can't have cats. :-) Its lovely and near fledging. Why not feed it yourself with some powdered bird's milk and a dropper? They are quite lovely and make excellent pets. The coo they make in the early morning is a delightful way to wake up. Before I started raising pigeons, I raised doves. A little too nervous for me - the pigeons were sturdier, but they are great in pairs in a home coop.

That's very kind of you to take care of the little guy (despite his crapping in your hand:). The world needs more people to take care of the animals that need help. My hat's off to you and your wife. Excellent shot BTW:).

Green and white poop is for luck. It's the black and brown that mucky mate. Great shot.
