Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Absolutely beautiful shot! The light on the water is just stunning!

Beautifully framed image. Something about ferry boats. Arriving I feel a sense of anticipation. Leaving brings revery and memories. Sounds like you brought back a lot of fun memories.

This is superb. I love the reflected light and the whole composition of this shot. I know that feeling too--that whole "I can't wait to travel again" vibe. I have it, big time...and I suspect some west coast stuff is involved, along with "reunion beer" in the Czech Republic, AND of course, finally going to Moscow!!!! Well, to one person IN Moscow!!! But anyway, I love this shot, a nice "departure angle" in many ways.

I know exactly when you did this, I remember seeing you notice that beautiful glow on the water! Nice shot...I still think you should have tried the swim :)

Oh, no...my goal is to be more right brained but here I am looking at the wake of the ferry and seeing that it is in a sweeping right turn...now, cut that out! LOL Glad you had a great trip. Sorry to hear about 3:30 :D

The stark lighting and contrast reflective effects, far beyond any words I can conjure up, Maz. Incidentally, I get up at 4:30 AM all the time to prepare for my early morning walks.
