Description

I've had an invite from good friends, to visit an Alpaca farm on the weekend - you would never believe this - it was only 10 minutes drive from where I live ! I fell straight away in love with those beautiful animals and wanted to take a couple home and trade-in the old Ride-on-mower. LOL They would make good pets - but you would need a lot of fencing and that's not all... It was a very informative tour, with the rudiments of Alpaca husbandry, humming sounds they make etc. Here you can see a couple of different breeds, the HUACAYA & the SURI, which are more suitable to our sub-tropical climate. Hope you can enjoy them - from these pix - as much as I did. *BB*

Way too cute and I can see where some of those Anime artist get their character inspiration from ! I wonder if they are a cross between a sheep and a giraffe ? Neat captures & ~Cheers~

What a lovely Alpalca's, also the young ones. Can understand, you would like to pick up one at your house, Brigitte!

I LOVE them too! Brenda has 2 on her farm to guard the sheep at which they excel. She tried Llama first but they can leap vey high and ended up in a garden in the centre of town! Thes are great pics which show their character so well. I just adore the snooty expressions.

Their faces have something in common with camels. But I think I'd like these guys more if they were living in my yard:) Like your collage!

They look so cute, and I bet it's hard not to fall in love with them... I've seen some farms growing Alpacas, but never pulled over to take some shots... nowadays is kinda a dangerous to stop by and start shooting your camera... with all that terrorism propaganda, the owners might think you're some spy or terrorist...
