Description

Well needless to say on Derby Day we got 11 inches of rain...then more after that...This is what part of Green River looks like now...There was no school today..suppose to be tomorrow but I doubt it these country roads where kids live rise quick....and they are rising..People got evacuated out of their homes in the trailer parks...it flooded my sons church basement..and it is just a mess....I haven't saw it this high in a very long time...I was amazed when I got out and looked and took what little pics I could get good images of....In other counties Red Cross is in boats taking food to people..that is the only way they can get in and out...Tomorrow and next day is suppose to be sunny and no rain but come Thurs there is...so what goes down will come right back up...... I just wonder where all the little fish that has just been born go...and I wonder if they survive.... Haven't saw it this bad since back in 1997 I think... As usual I did all post work in PSP 9 Added borders, frame, and text.... Adjusted hue and saturation and also sharpened the image just a little bit more Haven't felt good all weekend have been in bed hurting so bad....Need to get ready to go there now... I also made it in the Gallery Art Charts..I ranked number 26 for the image I did Love In A Mist..This really gave me a smile.... Thank you for taking time to stop and comment Also thank you for any of you that favorite this image as well Hope you all have a great night Again thanks for taking time to post and comment Hugs n love Susan~

Isn't it freaky how a beautiful creek can turn into something like this? How a placid lovely river can wipe out so many homes and turn so many lives upside down? An awesome capture of the power of water

Hi Susan, haven't seen you for about ten days...hope all is ok. This deep water caught my attention. Hopefully, this is all old news and the water is now long gone. I've just added a couple of flowers to my gallery from a wonderful Garden Tour on Friday...out on nearby Whidbey Island. Here's a quick link to one. Bill

eleven inches of rain? wow...when I was a kid (in the 1970's) we had a flood similar to this and back then at age 9 or so I was actually excited about it, lol...but I know it is a disaster...I am sorry to hear about this in your area, of co urse you post this in May but hopefully by now everything is squared away...
