Description

I've always liked lighthouses and this 1913 model at Fort Worden, Washington fits right in. I was a little surprised, after searching my gallery that this is just the fourth lighthouse in my gallery. Oh wow Bill!! This is an awesome shot! The composition is spot on and the white of the lighthouse etched against that azure blue sky is gorgeous! I also love the added dead wood in the foreground! Overall - magnificent!

I juar finished a puzzle of American lighthouses it has 90 lighthouses on it so I had to check just now to see if any of the ones you had been to were on there, they weren't but I just love them, there are over 1,000 light houses in the US alone little fact I looked up after working on this puzzle my favorite one I have been to and would love to go back and see is Cape Hatteras in North Carolina, I love it mostly for the story behind it how they raised money to move the light house to save it from a receding shoreline, great one to visit if you've not been there and a stunning place for any photographer the beaches there are my favorite.
