Hi everybody,
My name is Dana Pommet and my wife’s name is Josephine. I was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts, in 1942, and except for a tour in the Navy, lived there for most of my life. I retired to Delray Beach, Florida in December 2000. We love to travel and photography goes hand and hand with that. I went digital about 5 years ago and started posting November 22, 2008. I have met so many wonderful people on RR and that makes this whole process so much more interesting than just posting photos. Thanks for all the comments and keep them coming.
Update  January 2012: After hiding and denying my mild Dyslexia, for most of my professional life, and now fighting with its advancement – I want to thank you all for putting up with my poor typing skills and spelling problems. I know that my spell checker hates me and I now depend completely on audio books rather then actually reading printed books.  Life marches on!  Â

Nice details on this and colors. What type of scanner do you use, I would love to get one, I have so many photos, I would love to get them on disc and make some online photo albums. Great work.. glad the surgery went well.

Once I realized the scale by fixing my mind on the picket fence below it I could see that this really IS a huge thing. Great capture and detail!

This is great! I remember seeing Haida totems in an issue of National Geographic many moons ago, and I was as fascinated by those as I am by this beauty! I love the colors and the shape. There's so much to look at and wonder about. I also find it intriguing that so many totems in the "New World" seem to focus on birds, much like the heraldic eagles that emblazon the crests, castles, and national seals of countries scattered throughout Europe...it makes one wonder: What is it with humans and things that fly? Marvelous. Intriguing. Gorgeous.

Extremely excellent POV, clarity, detail and lighting effects in this Canadian capture, Dana! And, a totem pole to end all totem poles! In fact, considering its shape, I wonder if it can really be classified as a totem pole, which are normally cigar shaped, with tribal faces from top to bottom.

It has the feel of the Pacific Northwest... And a stunning shot at that.
