Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

nice capture my friend and I think the black and white adds a nice touch to it

Yes, that's SF for sure...I've spent a lot of time driving around between those tall buildings, usually not too sure where I am and wondering which way to go! Nice shot!

WOW! Kinda like Chicago with all of that water off to one side and the jumble off to the other. Ah, there's nothing like the urban jumble is there? You caught it perfectly and the black and white choice you made really makes this pop: all of those details just jump. This is a zoomer, for sure...I mean, you need to zoom just to get those details! I love the little tiny cars. They're barely visible, but yet strangely clear. Superb!

This sort of reminds me of Legos, the way they stick up and have that really angular shape, like you can just make them taller if you had more blocks. Cities are weird like that. I like the POV you got here, and the way you caught so much. The water in the background is really nice and soft, compared to all of those angles. I like the shadows too, they really stand out from 10,000 feet up don't they?

Beautiful capture of the city. B&W works very well here. Dana
