Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Belated Birthday wishes Tara, hope you had a great day.Great dedi Bill, I also thought this was a bit of window shopping, one hell of a painting.I was looking for the artist and his easel in the reflection, but he obviously didn't want THAT level of realism.

What an amazing shot! I thought she was contemplating an actual window rather than a painting! This is superb! And it's got one of my favorite people in it. This is a perfect birthday gift too! I love everything about it.

A great work! I have to study it again and again: What is real, what is reflection? Or isn´t it a reflection? It is a painting? Ohhhh.... A wonderful dedication for AuntieTK !

Wow! Nice shot Bill! One of my favorite people looking at what I first thought was a reflection in a window. Like Andrea, I have a hard time believing that's a painting! Very cool.

Excellent capture Bill - I was looking for yours and Tara's reflections in the window of the diner only to read that this was a piece of art. Getting old is not treating me all that well. Wonderful dedi for Tara’s B-day. Happy Birthday Tara. Dana

I'm embarrassed I'm only commenting on this now, since tara's birthday is over, but I wasn't online then, so I guess I can forgive myself. I'm commenting on some older images right now, because I missed so much & I want to catch up. (I'll return to the present soon!) You caught the Estes with real clarity, given the inhibitions of museum lighting & no flashes. (Flashes, as you probably know, aren't just outlawed because of disturbance to viewers, but also because lots of flashes can alter pigments over time.) You showed us Estes' layered reflections really well: You got all the layers so we can see just how complex his painting was. You got Estes' ambiguities---reflection upon reflection---and some of the questions such images raise: Are those ghosts walking in front in the painting, or reflections of people in the museum? Well, they're in the painting, to be sure; but I wonder if Estes had that question in mind when he painted them. Anyway, since the painting dominates the shot, your capturing Tara to the side is the frosting on the cake: Because her pose creates just what I imagine Estes wanted us to feel: Question, mulling, wondering about the reflections, and just pondering the mix of "photography" and actual paint. (Ie, how photorealism takes us back & forth between the two.) Tara, totally natural, completes the image, she's kind of the 'commentary' to the image. Wonderful, I loved the shot when it went up, and, well---it's June 21, and I'm saying "Happy Birthday Tara" once more! Can't say it enough! Many many more, and it's great to see how you two celebrate each other on this website, and through art itself. A terrific bday upload.
