Description

although its history is too long to go into here, there's an interesting unpublished fan fiction that's on the order of 50 years old that takes ERB's hero Tarzan and puts him on the Mars of the John Carter books. Titled Tarzan on Mars and Tarzan at Mars' Core this sprawling work has everyone from La of Opar to Jane being taken to Mars. To add one more layer, I offer Tarzan God of Mars. Not sure which Martian species he is about to attack, I seem to recall many six-legged beasties inhabiting the Carter books. This one happens to look a bit like my old dog Walter. I hope to follow up with one or two more (one with La and her new cult of Martian White Apes and another with La in combat with Jane)...

I love this! It's so...loopy and giddy and "silly" in the way those Edgar Rice Burroughs stores always were. You captured the mood of the era with this piece of work and updated it nicely in that the woman is not swooning, fully fainted, cowering in fear, or otherwise submissively-placed. She has the whole Space Princess look, and well...a sf-pulp just isn't sf-pulp without a space princess baring her midsection(you can always tell a space princess by her exposed midriff.) This is marvelous work. I like it immensely!
