Description

This was taken on April 24th, shortly after I arrived in New York City, at Oakland Lake, in Bayside, Queens. I played a bit with it in photoshop. The mud was very black though. On the first day, I arrived, walked around the lake with Leslie, and relaxed at Leslie's and Sam's apartment. I had had only 2 hours of sleep the night before and wasn't good for much. Thanks for viewing and for previous comments and favs!

Lucinda I hadn't realised you had moved, and what a sight to greet you here, lots of mud, but I am sure looking up to the beauty ahead of that massive puddle would please your eye, I hope you have a wonderful time in your new home! hugs Jane xx

I love the way this strikes me so much more as a painting than a photograph! Even before I saw it on full-sized zoom, I was taken by the "painted" quality of it. I think it's ultimately in the composition and the interplay between light and shadow. And the mud sounds intriguing as well. It's one of those things that just makes me want to skirt the mud, but listen to it as it slurps and makes those little lisping whispers if there are worms moving through it. The light and the colors are amazing as is the painted texture that you postworked. This is quite marvelous and inviting! Wonderful work!

Wow, I love how you captured the light and the reflections. I don't think I've ever seen lovelier mud. I love the mood of this scene and again the lighting for me is stunning. I just love it, it's beautiful.
