Description
I saw this old style McDonald's along east Colfax in Aurora, CO. I remember when the first ones were only walk-up. No inside dining at all. Then hamburgers were $0.15 and a cheese burger was $0.18. How times have changed.

They remodeled our McDonald's here so much it doesn't look at all like the original. This is a blast from the past.

I'm a neon nut, I'd love to see it lit up at night. :o) Ah I have to agree with Charberry though, ours had been remodeled so much as well. Great Shot. I'm coming up there in July, I may seek it out. :o)

Great shot! We've got an old one here, but it never would have dawned on me to photograph it. Good eye, and an excellent result!

We stopped at a McDonald's - newly opened and being talked about for their "fast food" - on a drive from Galveston to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida so many years ago - somewhere around 1965. There were 4 of us in the car - 2 girls and 2 adult women - and we ordered 14 hamburgers and 6 shakes before pulling out and continuing our trip. And it was a drive-in!

I'm a wee bit younger than the Original McDonalds, and it wasn't until McRetro that I started even seeing this old design. More and more of them are cropping up in the Midwest, though the McRetro design only borrows the original golden arches and overall restaurant shape rather than size and detailing. At any rate, this is a stunning picture and the color treatment on this looks deliciously aged as well: rather like a well maintained photograph that was most certainly NOT taken in the 21st Century. I don't know if it's post-work or quite simply camera settings, but it's effective. Great work!

Super capture and I ran into one of these in Las Vegas, a few years ago, and was shocked. Wonderful share. Dana
