Description

Taken right after a rain storm. Lots of reflections off the wet asphalt and pavement. This is an Old Style McDonald's with the Golden Arches. This McDonald's is along East Colfax in Aurora, Colorado.

Outstanding. The shimmer of color is electrifying. I used to do sales photos for new homes put on the market. One of the tricks of getting an appealing shot is to hose down the front - the grass, the driveway, the walks... it gives the house an unbeatable appeal.

I love the way McDonalds is actually reverting back to its original form. Oh, the more modern architecture will remain for ages to come, but this is a perfect example of McClassic, right down to the original happy-hamburger declaring that he's "Speedee." The Rock-and-Roll McDonalds in downtown Chicago has been retrofitted to resemble this classic beauty. The Rock-and-Roll McDonalds is nearly the size of a shopping mall, but it has the classic golden arches (albeit bigger ones) and well...seeing that (and thinking of the other McRetros popping up across the USA) makes me appreciate the fact that McDonalds actually does play a vital role in American history, no matter how easy it is to poke fun at fast food places. Now, if only McDonalds would re-establish the custom of outdoor (drive up dining) complete with waitresses on roller skates!
