Description

Captured 5/12/10, at beautiful Legg Lake in the beautiful Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in not-so-beautiful South El Monte, California. Better viewed full size. Just to be fair, there were other species of wildlife in the area, so, sorry, no geese on display this time. I kinda like the ambiance of lighting, ripples, textures and reflections in these pics. Adieu, thankx for coming by, and for any and all complimentary comments and favs.

Harry, sometimes I think about you and WWII comes to mind...when I look at your photographs of live ducks...I think of the big wheeled amphibious vehicles called ducks. Now is that a stretch or what? Nice collage...handled with your usual technical expertise:) Well done. Would like you to tell me about your art school experience sometime. My father did the same thing attending Pratt Institute in New York...interior design, wall paper design, all sorts of drawing, etc.

You're right about the reflections and ripples--they really make these shots!! BTW, I spent a big chunk of time in Whittier and never knew anything about this place, guess I need to check it out next time I'm down there!!

A beautiful pair of.... Sorry! No idea! Semi domesticated - cross bred ducks of some kind.. But that said, the male is a handsome fellow! Wonderful shots, Harry.. Perfectly taken.. Well done. Rob

Great images! I really like your captures of the male duck, especially in the second image. As soon as I looked at it, I thought how easy it is to make ducks with hand shadows. Not that I'm particularly good at making hand shadows but the shape of his head looks just like the back of someones hand. It has a more square silhouette than the female's. Excellent ripples and reflections and beautiful light and shadows across their bodies!
