Description

big fleet shot. Commissioned art for a collectible card game. What I think I like about these ships is that they blend hard sci-fi military functionality with a touch of anime influence. Fortunately, the client just wants the art and not the ship designs, so now I have to figure out what to do with these cool ships. Regardless, I learned a bit about texturing and lighting ships with these models tht I can apply elsewhere. That's always a good thing. The ships themselves were designed in part in DOGA-L3 and partly in Carrara. They were textured and rendered in Carrara as well. All the designs are mine, built from the ground up. The backdrop is a digital painting I did in GIMP 2.6, which is a free photo editing and digital art program like Photoshop (though I prefer it to photoshop myself).
