Description

Why would they wish to build big houses like this on the beach? This area is know of getting wash away every 10 to 15 years or sooner. That why they just had shacks there before. Now they have to have these type of houses build hurrcane proof...hahahahahaah i saw these type down there before but they gone from the last hurrcars that hit there 5 years ago. No matter what we build nature is takeing it down. Yes these house is good but I would not have one. If I had the money I still would not build one here. I may have a RV there and that it.

Maybe the foundation should be a boat hull? I couldn't agree more, though: You build on the beach you get washed away. We have the same problem here in Michigan where people build on the great lakes shorelines, then whine to the gov't when the land erodes away from under their expensive house, LOL.

Temptation is big when is comes to the great view. They have roughly 10 years full enjoyment of it.

Palavras corretas meu amigo, as vezes o ser humano parece não ser tão evoluido, pois sua metade pratica atos irracionais. Magnifica captura, aplausos (5)

Great photo here Jock and you make a good point as I wouldn't want to build one on the beach and besides the beach looks nicer without them.

different strokes for different folks.I have no desire to live in hurricane alley, but many people do.then they cry that their home and possessions were all lost.superb urban shot

Stellar capture of these handsome structures, built high off the ground, but like you say, a strong hurricane could make short work of these homes.

These people are related to the same ones near me who build on floor planes--and wonder why they get flooded out. Amazingly stupid folks out there!!

I've always wondered that...why do people keep rebuilding in places they know will not stay...but, each to their own. Some have the money so its no big deal I suppose.
