Description

Why would they wish to build big houses like this on the beach? This area is know of getting wash away every 10 to 15 years or sooner. That why they just had shacks there before. Now they have to have these type of houses build hurrcane proof...hahahahahaah i saw these type down there before but they gone from the last hurrcars that hit there 5 years ago. No matter what we build nature is takeing it down. Yes these house is good but I would not have one. If I had the money I still would not build one here. I may have a RV there and that it.

i always find it amazing how the people can recuperate every time after these blows, and living in hurricane areas you have to rebuild every few years .these people must have real courage, and love for the spots they live on.. very nice shot.

Not so much a defense for hurricanes but what the hurricanes brings in and that's the high seas, high surfs and flood waters. They building these high structure homes here in Hawaii too. Nice to have a high house when you're young. But as time goes by, climbing those steps takes its toll especially when bring in the groceries and stuff. Nice capture. Aloha

Love the comments above. I don't know the average age of us here in the Rendo photography gallery but I think most of us are old enough to have seen the folly of this type of structure...we have put our money into camera gear instead of beach houses...and now get a kick out of those who haven't yet had our life experiences. Maybe we'll see these folks on Rendo in another 10-15 years. LOL. Well done Jocko. Thanks for stirring all of us up:)

The RV plan is smart to me.. just drive it off to next location. I guess for some money is no worry and either is there safety...

For me I like the look of these lovely looking houses rather then concrete blocks There must be a risk in having one but at that end of the scale it minimal!

Wonderful shot! I don't think these are hurricaine proof, and yeah, the beach is gonna have a wonderful bunch of house-flavored snacks, eventually...but it's a great shot anyway! You always capture things so clearly and with such crisp detail. It's always fascinating to look at your work!
