“You don't take a photograph, you make it.” - - Ansel Adams
UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

This is different! I like how they use old tools as part for the gate Great, or is that grate capture!

I've seen some fantastic metal sculptures that looked a lot like they may have come from the same source; this is not exactly a practical piece, but very pretty! Excellent capture!

Now see, and people used to wonder why I had a basement full of junk! That wasn't junk, it was just unassembled art. LOL! Nicely done, Bill! I'm gonna start looking through garage sales a little more often, I think! A wrench here, a C-clamp there..... Great for making art or opening wine bottles!

I love those gates! If I'd spent less time engrossed in the thing on the wall, I might have looked at the gates a little longer! Thanks for taking pictures of things I missed. :)

That would make for a fascinating gateway at the end of your driveway, no? Nice shot!

Scrap metal is right, Bill, and OMG, are those tools that I see on the gates....hammers, wrenches, clamps, pick axes, etc.? Gotta give the person an A for effort in this concept. Lots of square footage apparent in the museum, which makes for a basically spartan milieu, even with the artwork.

I see that this artist didn't like hard work he's welded all his work tools to the gates lol those big crescent wrenches would be worth a bob or two.. lol. Excellent shot Bill a def fav..

Fascinating compo as you use the gate as a divider between phootographer and viewer. Great observing mood.

What a weird definition! At art school we had classes in carving, modelling and construction, all in the Sculpture department. and within 'construction' there were specialists in various media; metal, wood, plastics, card and paper, etc. And of course many public pieces are made with clay and then cast in bronze at specialist foundries. Anyway..all that aside, you made a great image, and I love the intensity of interest Tara gives off!

I love the gates! It looks like something I need welded infront of my windows here in sunny and crime ridden SA!!

Very interesting work which most men would study and the ladies probably wouldn't give a second glance to.
