UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Wow..its worth the zoom to see the really fine craftsmanship on the armor! Excellent shot!

Fantastic capture! Wonderful looking armor. I'll pass on trying it on, though

Great, sharp photo of all those details, Bill! What amazes me is the massive amount of fine scrollwork here. When you think about all the time and work that went into this - all by hand - you can see why one of these suits of armour would equal the cost of a high-end house in today's dollars. I can't imagine wearing one of these in a midwestern July. If the other guy didn't kill you, the heat surely would.

Wonderful photo. The armor is ornamental as well as utilitarian.

Lovely shot Bill this armour looks fantastic.. I just think about the amount of time that went into etching this and think of what it would cost in todays money and I don't think one would be able to afford it.. Must have been extremely hot to wear in the summer... would have baked person lol..

The etchwork on this dude suit is just incredible Bill! Gosh - the folks of those times had a lot of time to be arty! Hehe... Great shot with awesome light!

Exceptional. Unlike Andrea, I think of it as all in the name of staying alive.

SUPERB PARADE AND TOURNAMENT ARMOR! THEY COST A KING'S RANSOM AND THE BEST CAME FROM BRESCIA (WHERE THEY PRODUCE THE BERETTA AFTER SWORDS WENT OUT OF FASHION...)

That armor was just superb, and your photo is marvellous! I don't think any picture could do it justice, though ... the detail on that steel was amazing! I really wanted to touch it. Gorgeous!

Off-the-chart fantastic POV, clarity, detail, lighting effects and textures in this fabulous indoor shot of the knight and steed of olde, Bill! Exquisite armor all the way around. And to think the humble firearm put an end to all this ostentatious pomp and circumstance.

Wow, great shot of that magnificent armor! I've not made metal armor, but I've made enough out of other materials to appreciate how much careful work must have gone into making that suit! Great capture.
