Description
This is Fred. He's a Goblin. This is not one of his better days. Normally, he enjoys his job with the all-conquering Goblin horde. Burning and pillaging, looting and murder; what's not to like? Today, however, he decided to check out a promising Dragon's cave all by himself. Just to see if it was true that Dragons horde gold, you see.
Well, it turns out the Dragon was home when Fred came barging in. No one had told Fred that Dragons grew up to be this big.
Now what to do? In his previous encounter with an Amazon, he escaped with his life by convincing her that he was simply looking for the washroom. Given how scared he was, that wasn't difficult. But, that's not likely to work this time. So, running like a panicked rabbit is what comes to Fred's mind. But could he outrun the flames?
I was recently diagnosed with cancer. When you get news like that, it's just like the situation that poor Fred finds himself in here. You feel like you're facing an overwhelming foe and that you're doomed. But after that initial panic, your survival instincts kick in, and you do whatever it takes to make it out alive.
The jury is out on both Fred and me, but I'm betting we'll both be back. A little the worse for wear, maybe, but still upright and grinning.
Thanks for looking. I hope your day is going better than Fred's.
And for heaven's sake take care of yourself! Health is everything!

Well done allegory. I don't normally root for goblins, but I think in this case an exception is warranted. I am hoping for a happy ending to this tale for both Fred and you. {{{hugs}}}

I was so glad to see the return of Fred as I wondered how he was gonna escape the Amazon. You did an amazing job here of creating the impression of overwhelming fear and the OMG am I gonna get out of this alive. I have walked close to that edge a few times in my life; I am empathetic to the turmoil but also to the sense of calmness that quickly takes hold and which no one can understand unless they've been there. You may look back on things you might have done to change where you are but always have to remember that all those things worked to make you who you are. And unless you hate yourself, and I don't think that you do, then you know that you are who you are for a reason and now you have to move on from there.... and there is still a reason.

Great image. I'm glad you are being positive and fighting. I just lost 2 friends who didn't fight. I send Dragons your way. If you feel a tug on your hair or find clothes missing, that'll be them. heh heh. They're playfull.

My english isnĀ“t very good. The picture is great. I think you have done a wonderful metaphore, and I really hope you defeat your own dragons. Trust in your loved ones and kick the ass of the f*cking beast.

After reading that description I'm glad I stopped in here. Explore all options without delay - not just main stream medicine (a.k.a. chemo and drugs). Stay positive and fight.
