Another glimpse inside the Salt and Pepper Museum, located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. The museum has a collection of over 20,000 pairs of salt and pepper shakers from all over the world. Hope you enjoy. My daughter just got home from her last day of school, and she informed me that she is now a senior wooo hooo!!! congratulations Erin!!
Over 20,000 pairs I had mentioned that most of these were shot through glass cases, which makes it a bit of a challenge, I had a comment from a member, about that issue. So I thought I would share my tips on this: When you need to try and take a photo through glass. There are a few ways to do it. The general rule of thumb is to shoot at an 45 degree angle to the glass. If you absolutely must use a flash, this will help keep it from blowing back into the camera and creating that big white glare. The second option is to use a rotating "polarizing filter". This is a filter you screw on to the end of your lens. It is generally used to help enhance the sky in photographs, but can also do an amazing job of eliminating reflections - just rotate it until the reflections are minimized and shoot away! hope those help...

A polarizing filter....that's it! That's what I was trying to remember when I was shooting thru glass! Thankx loadz for the reminder, Lynell! Anyway, interesting assemblage of salt and pepper bespectacled doctor and owl shakers we have here -- amazing what ideas sprout forth vis-a-vis this genre.
