Description

This render is based on a statue from the Sword of Truth book series. I've been meaning to render it for some time as a tribute to the television show Legend of the Seeker. It's a great show based on Terry Goodkind's books, but unfortunately it's facing down the barrel of the network chopping block. If the series does go, then this is my tribute to two great seasons and a great book series. But if the show still has a chance then I'm using this as a means to get the word out: watch Legend of the Seeker and join the facebook group 'Save our Seeker'. I'll be posting a different version of this same image the next time I get a chance, but for those who can't see it, the woman on the ground observing the statue is Victoria from my graphic novel. Terry Goodkind has influenced me greatly as a writer and a storyteller so this is one of my characters paying tribute. Thanks for looking!

I couldn't get past 5 episodes of the show because I thought it was horrible compared to the books. But I love your image. Beautiful stone texture on the statue of Kahlan

The show definitely takes a lot of creative liberties. I gave up thinking of it as an adaptation and more of an 'inspired by' series. When you think of it that way, it's a lot more enjoyable to watch.

I like the angle of this render. You did a good job with it. I think that Legend of the Seeker is a good show. You're on the right track with thinking of it as an "inspired by" show rather than a direct adaptation. It's kind of like with the 3rd Harry Potter movie. That was a good movie when you looked at it away from the book.
